Eri Silk Diamond Weave, Cream, UNSOFTENED, DEFECTS, 1,7m

Reference : 101-61-0039

Eri silk is one of the most popular wild silks.

It comes from the cocoons of semi-domesticated moth Philosamia ricini. Sometimes it can be also referred to as “peace silk”. This is in case that the production waits extra two weeks for the worm to finish its life cycle and gets out of the cocoon alive. The eri silk fiber is a bit darker than the one of Bombyx mori. When softened, the fabric has a similar hand feel to cotton, it is soft and flowing. At the same time it is warmer than other silk types.

Note: The fabric in our offer is unsoftened and thus much stiffer and rougher than it's softened version, it feels almost like a paper. Once washed it becomes a bit softer and flowing. Perfect for shirts, blouses and tunics.
