Silk crêpe de Chine numbers among the most popular silk fabrics. It is a light material with a vast array of uses: dressy blouses, billowy skirts, evening gowns and bridal, exclusive lingerie and nightwear, as well as scarves and wraps. Crêpe de Chine is airy, smooth, and a joy to wear. It is known for its exceptional fluidity – it drapes beautifully – and typical, slightly pebbly structure. The fabric is opaque, but in light shades it can be a bit sheer.
Crêpe de Chine is especially effective when used in bias cuts, full skirts, and wrap-around dresses. It pairs especially well with sheer, matte georgette.

Care: We recommend dry cleaning this fabric at a reliable dry cleaner. In our tests this fabric stood up to gentle hand washing but did shrink slightly, enhancing its pebbly structure. If you risk hand washing, use lukewarm water and a delicate detergent for woolens; do not wring or squeeze dry; block dry on a flat surface. Dry iron on the lowest setting. Avoid water droplets.
