This sturdy, tightly woven fabric features a broken twill weave, resulting in a classic herringbone or chevron twill. It lends itself to use in clothing as well as home decor, and is especially at home in period costumes (particularly early medieval and Viking garments). Because of its thick, tight weave, it is especially suitable for trousers, jackets, curtains, pillowcases, and similar items.

The fabric is sturdy and resilient, but also breathes well. Its twill weave is less prone to shrinkage than the classic plain weave, but we still recommend washing before cutting. To prevent fading, dyed linens should not be dried in direct sunlight. Please double check the weight you have selected for our heavy linens before ordering; we have various kinds.

Care: Wash dyed linens at 40°C; white and natural linens can be laundered at 60°C. Iron on the highest setting; may also be steamed. If machine drying, use a short, gentle cycle.
